The design
This print is one of the most recognised works of Japanese art. Originally created as a woodblock print The Great Wave off Kanagawa, was produced between 1829 and 1833 by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai.
Chiyogami is hand silkscreened paper from Japan, hand made using traditional techniques. Japanese paper makers are renowned for their centuries-old tradition of meticulous craftsmanship and aesthetics.
