The design
This print is called 1,000 Cranes. It it said in Japanese that if you fold 1,000 paper origami cranes you will have your wishes come true. They represent hope and healing in difficult times.
The solid gold ink base of the print allows the cranes to glow through the paper individually when lit up.
Sogara Yuzen papers consist of a single image, silkscreened by hand across the entire sheet of paper. These magnificent papers make wonderful gifts just framed or as a floor lamp where the whole sheet can be illuminated from within.
